On September 8, 2021, The Daily Tribune News in Cartersville, Georgia, shared that the Cartersville-Bartow County Chamber of Commerce would host a free program to help local employers get in front of best-fit, skilled students and others for current opportunities and for building a future talent pipeline.

The program, held at Georgia Highland’s College’s Cartersville campus, showed employers how to participate in Employer Connections, which is part of YouScience Discovery.

In Discovery, students and other see local employers that align with the unique aptitudes and interests from their YouScience Discovery aptitude assessment results, earned certifications, and chosen education pathways. They may see careers and companies they never thought of, but that they’re naturally wired to succeed with. They then link straight to the company’s website to learn more about current openings and future needs.

All students in Bartow County and Cartersville City schools take YouScience Discovery during school and see participating local employers. That gives participating companies access to a free, low-maintenance way to create brand awareness with local best-fit student talent.

In the article, Matthew Thomas, workforce development director for the Cartersville-Bartow County Chamber of Commerce, is quoted saying, “We believe YouScience is a great resource and platform for assisting local talent to become more aware and better understand businesses and career opportunities in the community…. for the first time, employers are allowed to register on the YouScience system, allowing our industries to become more visible to students and create connections.”
