Listen to your aptitudes with AI
The YouScience Aptitude & Career Discovery results report is packed with insight—nearly 40 pages of personalized data that help students understand their natural abilities, how they learn, and where they’re most likely to thrive in the world of work. But let’s face it—getting students to read the full report isn’t always easy.
What if they could listen to it instead?
Enter NotebookLM, a free AI-powered tool from Google that turns static documents into dynamic, personalized conversations. With just a few steps, students can turn their YouScience results into an audio podcast they can engage with anytime—on the bus, at home, or in class.
Want to understand why this matters? Our 2025 Post-Graduation Readiness Report shows that when students understand their aptitudes and see clear connections to careers, they’re more likely to make confident, informed decisions about their futures.
Step 1: Download the Results
Start by downloading the student’s full results from YouScience Aptitude & Career Discovery.
How to download
- Visit the student’s account results page.
- Click “Download aptitudes” in the top right corner.
- Save the generated PDF—this is the ~40-page results document.
This PDF is what you’ll upload into NotebookLM.
Step 2: Create a free NotebookLM account and upload the PDF
Once you have the student’s results file, you’re ready to bring their data to life.
Here’s how
- Visit NotebookLM
- Sign in with a Google account
- Create a new notebook and upload the student’s YouScience PDF
NotebookLM will analyze the document and allow you to prompt it to generate a podcast-style script—a dialogue between two voices (such as a student and a mentor) discussing the student’s unique aptitudes, surprising insights, and potential career matches.
Why this works
- It’s more engaging: Students are used to podcasts—this format meets them where they are.
- It’s more digestible: Listening breaks down complex insights into manageable takeaways.
- It’s reusable: Students can revisit their personalized audio anytime for planning or motivation.
- It’s effective: School counselors can use this format to better connect with students in a way that feels approachable and personal. Read more in our 2025 School Counselor Report.
- It’s grounded in research: Aptitude-based guidance leads to stronger outcomes. Learn more in our Aptitude & Career Discovery Solution Brief.
