Challenge
Sinclair Community College faced the possibility of declining enrollment and needed a strategy to increase the number of new students entering from local high schools.
At the same time, many high school students lacked confidence in their program or career choice and struggled to make informed decisions about their future. Without clear guidance or understanding of their strengths, students were often uncertain about which educational path to pursue.
Sinclair needed a way to strengthen relationships with local high schools, support student decision-making, and increase enrollment while setting students up for long-term success.
Solution
Sinclair Community College partnered with local high schools to implement YouScience Aptitude and Career Discovery as part of a coordinated enrollment and advising strategy.
High school students completed a series of science-based brain games to identify their aptitudes, strengths, and interests. These insights were used to guide students through career exploration, program selection, and future planning.
The Sinclair team worked closely with five high schools to provide both group and individual career exploration opportunities, helping students better understand their results and apply them to real decisions about their education and careers.
